Measure width, depth and height with the furniture in the position you can safely store it. Allow for padding, handles and parts that cannot be removed. Confirm whether an item may be tipped or stacked before using that arrangement.

Compare a central path with a path down one side. Put boxes you will need together so retrieving one does not mean moving several unrelated stacks.
