Measure twice. Carry once.
The same check the planner runs in its move-in checklist, for one item at a time: does it pass upright, only tilted, or not at all, and which way to turn it.
Will it pass through the door?
Inches. Width and depth are the footprint; height is how tall it stands. A storage unit’s roll-up door is usually wider than a house door, so type the real opening.

How the doorway check works
Why does turning the item matter?
An item shows the doorway two of its three measurements. Spinning it around keeps it upright and lets either its width or its depth face the door, so a 60 by 20 dresser goes through a 36-inch door on its 20-inch side.
When is tilting allowed?
Only when the item can safely lie on a different face: mattresses, sofas, boxes. Dressers with loose tops, appliances and anything that must stay upright are checked upright only, and the tool never suggests tilting them.
Does a fit here mean move-in day will be easy?
No. This is the doorway only. Hallways, corners, stairs, elevators and how two people actually maneuver a piece are not modeled. Measure the route too, and leave a padding margin.
