Box 7
Inside: camping stove, lantern, tent stakes, fire starters
Last recorded place: Back wall, shelf B
THE ORGANIZER
Keep box labels, what is inside each box and the last place you recorded it together. Search what you saved before your next trip to storage, instead of opening every box.
The demo uses made-up boxes and works without an account. Saving your own boxes needs one.

The organizer is the part of your plan that stays useful after the move. Each new box goes around the same four steps.
Step 1
Print a label with a short code and a QR code for each box. The label never lists what is inside. Switch on Codes only if you would rather leave the box name off too.
Step 2
Add the things you would look for, in your own words, like winter lights or the good scissors. Search reads every word you wrote.
Step 3
Write the place the way you would say it, like back wall, shelf B. BoxNStore keeps it with the date. If a crew puts your things away during a service job, the place they record shows up too, marked as recorded by the crew.
It is the last place someone wrote down. If a box moves and nobody records it, the record does not change.
Step 4
Search for what is inside or where you put it. You get the box and its last recorded place. Scanning the label opens the same record after you sign in.
Search the 6 sample boxes. Then pretend you moved one and record its new place, and search again to see the last recorded place change.

Nothing is saved. What you type stays in this page’s memory. It is not added to the address, not stored in your browser and not sent to BoxNStore.
A recorded place is what you, or a crew during a service job, wrote down on that date. It is not live tracking, and the organizer cannot know about a move nobody recorded.
My account has an Export my information button that downloads your plans, including box names and what you listed inside. It does not include recorded places.
Box labels and inventory lists are familiar ideas. What is different here is where they start: from the plan you already made to choose and arrange your space, so you do not rebuild a list after the move.

A short code, a QR code, the plan name, BoxNStore and the box name. It never lists what is inside. Switch on Codes only to leave the box name off. Scanning the QR code opens the box record for its owner after sign in, and shows nobody else anything.
Box names, the things you listed inside, notes, the plan name and the places you recorded.
Set up your first box in four short steps: name it, record where it is, print its label and search for it straight away.
